Hi All. I picked this up on Tuesday having popped a very low ball offer in on Ebay and surprisingly no one else seemed to want it.
I mean, that saddle is enough to put anyone off, to be fair and the stem and bars were though not equally horrible, still pretty horrible.
The red tubes are anodised - they look amazing. The paint on the rear triangle and lugs is lovely and deep as well. It's been touched up a little here and there but everything is sound on it and the wheels, headset and BB are all running perfectly.
Today I got rid of the bars and the stem, replacing them with a Zoom stem and a Control tech bar. In 1991 Purple. Obvs.
Sometime over the weekend I will be killing the saddle with fire, and probably having it exorcised.
There's a pop - up bike shop having a jumble sale in Manchester on Saturday so I'll get a new saddle then.
I've checked the brakes and gears and all are running fine, so I don't yet feel the need to dismantle everything.
This is going to be my daily dosser/rider so I might even fit mudguards.
The handlebar, BTW weighs 583 grammes. The Control Tech weighs 140.
