7 speed shifter pods needed. (STX-RC or LX perhaps?)

Hi there.

As per title. Looking to swap out the Gripshift 400's on my 97' Lava Dome for something period but more to my preference.

I have some 8 speed XT rapid fire shifters from that era M793 I think

and also an 8 speed cassette (Deore - slightly more modern)

£40 posted for the pair, or £30 posted for the shifters alone and you just ignore the 8th gear?

I've also got a set of those Shimano SL-MC40 (STX) 7-speed shifters surplus to requirements - only thing is they're on a bike of mine which lives with family at other end of the country. I'll be doing all the upgrades on it over the Christmas/NY break, so that would be the first chance I'd have to post them.

Good luck with the search, but maybe you'll get replies more offering you M739s and not 7-speed STX shifters if you change your title - which currently reads "7 speed shifter pods needed. (STX-RC or LX perhaps?)"
