50t chainring with m953 front mech!

As standard the m953 mech was usually mated with 46 or 48t big ring. Will it accommodate a 50t! I'm sure I've run this set up before but can't quite remember so wanted to get an alternate opinion.

Good question that. I'm sure some of the wise owls on here will know the answer

It's not much different to the 48 in terms of curve, but it's the extra height the mech will be at compared to the granny etc.

Spec is a 22T full swing and 12T form mid to top.
But that may be to match up with the 48/36/26 of the 5 arm (952) setup and provide their XTR perfection shifting as that's where the bump and lumps on the mech will be designed for (46/34/24 for the 4 arm version)

You can normally get away with a bit extra.

If you've not got a ring, I think I have a few new/nos 50/52/54 110 rings.
