26" Wheeled bike are a thing of the past

They say ...
29er for short travel XC hardtails and very tall riders.
27.5er for longer travel enduro style bikes / short travel XC for medium / short riders.
26er for downhill / slopestyle / trials / budget bikes.

I think Downhill will probally go 27.5" also.
And all entry level bikes will soon be 27.5 too.
Even supermarket £100 ATBs will go 27.5, eventually.

I think that even the bike industry realizes that having 3 different common wheel sizes is stupid, and it's the 26" that's getting the chop.

I read and see. 2015 bikes being released show even more universal movement to this new wheel size, as those who stuck to 26 dont want to be left behind (Cotic, On-One, Giant, Specialized to name just a few)

Cotic have been running that '26 ain't dead' campaign to promote the Soul.
But if it isn't dead, it must have at least been given the bad news, that it ain't got long left - and told to put its affairs in order.

And Cotic don't believe that '26 ain't dead' enough to stop them bringing out a 27.5 Soul - that will probably go on to replace the 26 entirely.

I think downhill rigs are going to be sticking to 26, but i think they will be pushed to 650b if the manufacturers can make the pros use them.

I'm in no way endorsing 650b - I have never ridden one and cant think for a second that they make any difference

the pros are already using 27.5 DH bikes, the only pro team at the world cup level still using 26inch wheels is Kona.

you should try one, bigger wheel sizes are taking over for a reason.

Tried a whyte 905 the other day. Not sure if it was the 27.5" wheels or the radical geometry, but I sure noticed a difference. A really nice riding bike.

This did make me laugh, run a campaign then switch anyway. But they have to go with the demand like everyone.

Scant, I'm lanky so think I will get in great with bigger wheels and will probably change my main modern bike in the next twelve months and buy into a bigger wheel size.
