26" Tan/Amber Wall Tires?

How are these working out? Curious what they measure out to as well.
Still haven't mounted them! I need to though, I just pull the Bontrager tires off a wheelset that's hanging and they look naked. May get them on that wheelset but won't have a ride report for you.

Anybody tried removing the Billy Bonkers logo?
I have done it successfully once with dirty and cheap Schwalbe Table Top by using brake cleaner...

Still not sure if I would recommend to do this treadment also with newly bought tires. As the needed strong cleaners like Aceton etc. may also remove the softener of the Skinwalls.
Still my Table Tops ride fine after now more than two years.

Nice job. Side walls cleaned up well too!

Thanks, yes, that's how it started, the sidewalls of the second hand tires had been very dirty, the earlier owner seem to be a fan of an oil dripping chain...
As typical soft cleaners haven't been able to remove the oli from the walls, I've started to pull out stronger stuff like brake cleaner which was first of all removing nicely the dirt, but than I've noticed that the black letters start to get off as well. It took still some rubbing and elbow grease, but once started I liked the idea of a pair of clean tires.

Actually, there is no big discussion those modern Schwalbe tires like Table Top or even better the Billy Bonkers ride nicely, especially for dry or mixed conditions, are comfortable and pretty light.
Just the ugly and bulky letter are almost the only but sometimes serious disadvantage.

So... I've been going quietly mad for weeks searching the 'bay for tan/skin walls, so thanks for this thread which is remarkably useful. I bought the Curio tyres earlier, they're on my Marin Bolinas Ridge pictured in BoM Aug '23. They are heavy but the grip is excellent for all applications. I also bought the cruiser style semi-slicks from them too and it's a really good on-road/gravel tyre though the sidewalls cracked badly while hung in the garage for a year. As I mainly do tracks out in the Cairngorms all year, I need full nobbly/high traction tyres so I've been hunting without much luck. I have a single Duro Vantage, was a pair until one sidewall went into a bulge. I think they are an ideal tyre for a retrobike but they have evaporated... for me, Tan/skin wall is the ONLY tyre which looks right on a older bike so I'll keep hunting.. IF I track anything down value/good I'll post on here..
