I've not found mine too bad, but I've come from High Rollers which don't really do mud. I'm quite lucky because I dint tend to ride in real mud, just sloppy, sandy water!

I've always used the single ply DH versions so that I can get Super Tacky's which weigh in at just under 900g for either whereas the HD's are just under 700g. Having used Super Tacky's for so long, I'm used to the extra drag although I do cry as soon as I have to ride on tarmac.

Are you planning to ride this weekend? I'm going to the mud bath that will be Coed ay Brenin on Sunday.

I think im going to go with the 60a version of both tyres in a folding version, the claimed weight is 700g so its near on no difference. Although i did find it odd that the stickier versions are heavier.

I am planning on going out this weekend, supposed to be really nice weather Saturday and Sunday morning. Im just heading over to Sherwood Pines I think, but I do want to start going further afield once the weather has got better.

I'm planning on heading to Cannock tomorrow. We were supposed to be riding the Beast on Sunday but I have a feeling that everyone will bottle it and well just end up on the MBR.

I want to get out and ride some new places too. I can recommend Hopton Woods, it's ace. Big climbs but you do get rewarded. I'm planning on doing two of the Mini Enduros too (FOD and Eastridge).

I nearly did a mini Enduro last year, but the entry fee was ridiculous money.

I also want to get over to cannock again soon, I want to have a day riding Stile Cop though rather than Monkey/Follow the dog, as I haven't done that for about a year!

Really want to get over to Bike Park Wales over the spring too.

What were they trying to charge last year? The 'Degla night Enduro is £30 so I'm hoping it will be about the same.

Got a day booked in at BPW in March which I'm really looking forward too. Antur is worth a trip too.

Yeah i'll deffo shout up over the coming months mate! get a ride in over at Cannock or something!

The Enduro I was going to enter last year was £45, I wasn't paying that.

Just ordered my tyres from CRC, I doubt they will get here tomorrow but by next weekend I should be 10 speed and less dragging tyres! Ain't no stopping me!

Not sure if anyone noticed but I removed most of the stickers last time I washed the bike, leaving just the downtube and top tube decals. I think it looks much better. A lot less busy.

I also added a marsh guard to keep the mud outta my face.







I also got hold of some Shimano Zee stuff cheap, so made the jump from 9 speed saint to 10 speed Zee with the clutch. It arrived today so got it all on and running smooth. Impressed with the quality of the Zee stuff, and the textured shift lever is a nice touch.

Looking good buddy.

If my X0 shifter dies as quickly as my last two X9's, I'll be sacking Sram off and gong back to Shimano; Zee mech with a Saint shifter.

Just need to get it dirty now (which won't take long at the mo!).

I've never really liked SRAM stuff, going back to the days when I was a mechanic at the LBS, I just despised it. So I don't even consider it now. I did however set up a mates bike for him not long ago and that was all SRAM stuff, it seemed a lot lot better now days, in fact it was actually quite nice! And I do love the anodised bits they do! But I just love Shimano stuff.

I used to hate the grip shift only stuff but switched when they bought out trigger shifters. The push push idea made sense to me but the big seller was the 1:1 actuation. My old M952 stuff was really sensitive to mud which meant that it needed adjusting all the time. The X9 stuff that I swapped to was much easier to set up and never seemed to need adjusting.

I'm not sure the current stuff is as well made. My nine speed shifters lasted forever whereas my 10 speed ones haven't. The X0 shifter I've bought is a 2014 one so hoping it lasts lint because it's a different design. It does shift better than the X9 and I like being able to change the trigger angle.

If it dies, then I'm back on Shimano.
