Hi Jonny. Just in the process of building my 2007 back up and am doing a reverse retro mod using a DX groupo. I'm using a square taper bb and know I need 68mm but do you have any idea what axel length I'll need? CRC have UN55's at a good price in both 110mm and 122mm. :?

if you're using a dx or xt 7 speed chainset it'll be a 68x122.5mm if you're using a different chainset then it'll be different

Just got a 27.2 post for it but the fit is very tight. Did you have any problems?

no, should be a 27.2mm, maybe run a reamer through it just to clean it out?

Good plan. The frame has sat unused for over a year so I wonder if the soft alloy shim has swollen a bit over the summer.
