I keep coming back at this thread, I love the 5-spot, a proper riding tool that is. Reminds me I should stick mine on here someday too. Turner really hits a sweet "spot" with me.

And pardon me but is that the bolted toghether from 3 parts RaceFace XY stem you have fitted? And have you ridden it in anger yet?

Right you are. This is a 2006 TNT style frame, with the rear pivot on the seatstay and not the chainstay like your Horst frame. In 2007, I believe, the offset chainstays appeared.

It is a hoot to ride. This retro thing may be over rated! :shock:

Yes it is (Race Face "System" actually. Isn't the XY a seatpost?). I still have teeth and it does not creak...yet.

Seriously, I've never worried about System stems. Installed correctly they don't make any noise and are very stiff. I have 4.
