1999 Marin Hardtail Catalogue

My favorite rider currently in the stable is my 1999 Team Marin. I was pleased to find this catalogue on the flebay the other day so I ordered it. I'll post scans of it once it arrives. These are just poorly taken pictures on ebay.

The Dia Tech front disc brake on the Nail Trail with the alivio and stx mixed group was an interesting choice. They clearly didn't want the technology on a racing bike. I wonder how that worked out for sales and those who actually road them.

I’ve got a 99 Nail Trail. The brake was absolute pants and quickly got swapped for a modern cable caliper. As I recall the disc bolt pattern was a standard of its own too…so a new hub was need too. In the end I upgraded everything apart from the frame…

I picked up this Team frame 3 or 4 years ago and built it up. I didn't know about the Nail Trail but I decided to go with a front disk/rear V brake. It has that look to it. I did it because it's functional. I didn't know it was actually a thing from the factory with certain models.

Nice. But it’s 1998 no? Judging by the decals. Great looking bike and bizarre you ended up with the none-to-mainstream front disc-only look
Thinking to upgrade my front brake and fork. Is that an Avid cable caliper up front on yours? And what fork is it?

It's either a 1999 or 2000. 98's were painted white and had round tubes from what I've seen. The fork is a SID Race. The decal on the right leg was torn and looked bad. At some point I put that Avid decal on it that came with my BB7 disc brake. It has XTR leavers and rear V-brake.
