For sale is my Sunn Vertik which I bought new in 1998, frame and forks are in lovely original condition, with hardly any marks. (minus the original yellow 'blister' top tube sticker). Frame is made of Fuji double butted chromo and from memory it's about 4.2 lbs. The whole bike is pretty light - without weighing it, I would guess it's sub-26lbs.
Most of the original parts are long gone and I recently re-built it with new or good used parts
New parts:
Schwalbe big apples 26 x 2.15"; 11-34 8-spd cassette; SRAM 8 spd chain; new shimano middle ring on crank (granny and outer ring ok); Avid brake levers; rear Avid FR5 V brake; all new gear and brake cable - inner & outers); new riser stem; rear wheel - by Taylor wheels, Germany - Acera hub and ZAC 2000 rim; Clarks ergo grips.
Used parts:
Cannondale riser bar; LX cranks & BB; Deore rear mech/XT front mech; Terry saddle (v.light); 8-speed rapidfire levers; Front wheel - Bontrager Superstock - runs true and free; and has plenty of braking surface, but could probably do with the hubs re-greasing.
All in, this makes a great spare bike. It's too good for a pub bike and it is plenty capable enough for bikepacking/touring. I've done light off-roading with the big apples and they're a real hoot. The bike handles really well...bit like a french kona! A long time ago I also did a loaded tour of the western Isles on this bike, towing a 3 year old on a trailer bike (the 3 year old is 16 now!).
Size is 16"...in the photo's it's set up for me at just under 5'8". I'd say that's the max height - it should be ok for 5'5 ish" - 5'8".
I also have the original 110mm stem, riser bars and saddle, which I can include with the bike for a purist build.. (all a bit tatty)
Pick up preferably N Wales borders (about 15 m from Llandegla)....£130.00 !! Photos here....(pedals not included)
