1998 Specialized FSR Shaun Palmer Edition

that is not a birds pooh, that is dirt from its last ride in 2007. i was pretty sad i could not ride it anymore, so i just put it aside like it was. i thought about your idea of make original again, but i decided to leave it like that.

i didnt mean to make a collecters heart blead by seeing this bike in such a bad shape. so i cleaned it.

history:
its a 1997 frs race edition with a special rear end

the front frame is standart fsr with special paint job

it was one of the first dh bike sold to public, an im proud to have one!

Sweet bike Velofahrer!

I've always loved these bikes - flames, flake paint and neon yellow - what more could a man want?
Collected a few pics over the years, but only ever seen one in the flesh. Way back in '98 in a store in Honolulu (complete with 'sold' sticker), seem to remember the price tag was $4999.

Pics:
1. The early days? Running Racelines and jeans...
2. Which progressed to a wet-look skinsuit
3. Looks like an ad
4. Taken from the MBA review of the bike (first pic on thread)

I thought none of them sold, unless specialized bought them as there still in the specialized headquarters.

Specialized had the fsr elite stars and stripes one at sea otter last year on show for the public

I don't think they met he reserve they were like $10000

I have 2 fsr elites. 98 and 2000. But I think I would almost give anything for one of these. How much you going to sell this frame for so I can restore it. I even have a set of the original forks off these.

I just remember he put them up for sale. If he put a $10,000 reserve on them, it's not surprising they didn't sell.

Palmer will never look out of place. Love the spesh but love the even rarer intense m1 palmer edition stars and stripes, would sell all my bikes to own one

Pic 1 is when Fox refused to pay Palmer for using their race gear, told them to **** off and raced in jeans with specialized scrawled down each leg as per the photo

After the bad press Fox paid him what he wanted....
