I sent off the data for the braces as well. Waiting for the reply on the cost. A friend of mine has another contact of some guy down in San Diego who could do the job as well so I'll get multiple quotes. the conundrum is: if you have somebody make those regular schedule, they'll get it done rather quick and good quality, if you have someone make those parts as a favor on the side, they'll be cheap but you'll wait forever because there's always some paying job that takes precedence, so for 6 braces you'll wait forever, and if something doesn't work out with the machining quality you can't really complain. I wish we had a metal CNC mill at work... I would run the crap out of it on the weekend! Unfortunately we have to outsource all metal work so no luck for me. Just plastic parts...
As far as the logo goes, I'm looking into laser engraving a flat piece of brass then bend it to the tube shape. Should be a lot cheaper.
I'm hoping for you that the bearing doesn't end up costing a fortune. Make sure you get an Angular Contact Bearing, a regular radial bearing would fall apart quickly when used under axial load!
