Re:
Enigma Design and Manufacturing took on the contract in early 1997 to build 100 Hot frames and 100 Ku frames.
Enigma Hot frames have a prefix of KH7 & KH8 depending whether they were welded in 1997 or 1998 - the next digit is the month. The 1998 Hot frames will either have a late month in 1997 or 1998.
At some point the Hodaka factory in Taiwan took on the contract to build some of the 1998 Hot frames. We are not sure if this was due to the difficulty that some welders were experiencing with fabricating the frames using all tubes made from Reynolds 853.
Hodaka Hot frames a have prefix of H, and then the year. I only have two of these frames on file - my 1998 Sparkle Red with black & white decals, and Canuck's 1998 Sparkle Green with black & gold decals.
I haven't seen enough examples in detail of Enigma Hots & Hodaka Hots to identify if there is any difference between the two manufactures. I would assume that the stays could differ, although from the few that I have seen, they both use the Dew Drop / New Drop Dropouts that have a "K" stamped in them.
I suggest shining a torch across your bottom bracket shell, and see if you can make anything out.
.... or carry out this horrific crime as seen on a 2001 Fairly Works built Kula:

Edit: I've just noticed your Top Tube Cable Stops, and they differ from mine and Canuck's Hodaka frames. Maybe this is an indication of an Enigma frame. Having said that Ernie's 1998 Starz 'n' Barz Hot is a defo Enigma frame, and those Cable Stops look like mine in the pictures that I have of it..... over to you Ernie
