I picked this up the other evening, another local and cheap fixer upper. It’s nothing particularly special in terms of spec but I like a 90’s steel framed mtb and the colour fade on this looks really nice.
I got it all stripped down with no issues and cleaned up the frame a bit to check the condition. Overall it’s pretty good with just a few minor scuffs etc.
I think the plan is to just rebuild it cleaning components as I go. I’m not sure that I’ll be keeping this one as it may be a tad too small so don’t want to go overboard and spend heaps on it. I may switch the grip shifters for the basic sti’s on the right of the pic above - I just can’t get on with gripshifters..
One of the canti brakes has a broken plastic part which has written that one off but I have a spare basic set I can use so no drama.
