I tell you what: sell me the Explosif it's rubbish. You don't want it, stick with the Lava Dome.

LOL ;) . Its like a race car driver choosing a cleaned and polished Honda Civic over a BMW M3 with some cosmetic scratches. To each his own I guess. That Explosif looks fine by the way IMHO.

I like your analogy. But also, the race driver would tell the difference because of his skills as a race driver. But I wonder, would an average driver without the skills to push the cars to their limits 'really' be able to tell the difference.. I'm talking mr average here. Both sporty and both fast.

But it's not a dilemma as Pimpmykona owns both bikes. The real dilemma is which day do ride each of them. What a nice dilemma to have!

Ok looks like I will Singlespeed the explosif.

And sacrilege I know but I would like to fit some contemporary forks obv no more than 100mm.

Any recommendations for new forks ? A headset

Simple answer, yes.

I have a 95 explosif frame, no dents or dings but scruffy paint, im gonna paint the bejesus out of it, im gonna choose a horrible garish candy colour and then put sparkley clear coat on it and lashings of purple ano i have been collecting for years. im also gonna weld a v brake cable stop in it coz i hate the stupid dog collar.

Im gonna use non period correct parts, i have threadless tb p2s as i hate quill stems and threaded headsets

and i will love it all the more for it than if it was the same frame in its scruffy original paint that people are still pulling out of the garages in their hundreds.

there are mint and nos kona explosifs out there, yours aint that.

Its your bike do what you want with it i say. when our generation is dead no one is gonna care about your mass produced bike anyway

My grandmother could tell the difference between a Civic and an M3. Keep the LD as is and build up the Explosif... :D
