1995 Team Marin reimagined: Bumblebee

@Bearvalley90 as a Marin fan with a few projects on the go (waiting for time and resources, haha) I really loved this build.
I'm currently working on a '91 Team Marin (and a couple of Team Issues - but they will come later!). Having seen yours I might take it to Argos for the Fluro Pink bits (hoping the Zolotone will clean up so I can leave as-is). Quick question if you don't mind - what length of stem did you go for? I would like to swap out the stock Marin Lite roller stem which is 130mm and just feels very long. I've been thinking about whether a short stem will mess the handling or geometry - I guess I'll just try and can aways swap back. How do you find the geometry now?
Cheers!
Joni

91 team Marin sounds awesome!! I went for a 90mm stem, but could get away with a 100mm. The frame is a 15.5 inch and I am 5 foot 8 inches and fits me well. The slightly shorter stem doesn’t mess with it at all; feels nice and balanced. Good luck with yours; my brother and I agree the 91 Team Marin is the best of all!

Thanks for the kind words - and for the update on the stem / ride geometry :)

Yeah, the 91 Team Marin was always a dream of mine. I managed to find one in my size & super cheap so I couldn't say no. It's rough but just about the right level of project for me to take on I hope. I'm thinking to go for a resto but not fully period correct, to make it a little more contemporary (eg short stem like yours & a few other tweaks). Looking at your build here I decided to also start a thread. Thanks again for the inspiration!
