1995 Team Marin reimagined: Bumblebee

I have always been a Marin man. My first ever mtb was a 1992 Marin Muirwoods. A couple of months or so ago, I bought a rough as a badger 1995 Team Marin. It had a bad respray with the bb and headset still in, but I saw a diamond in the rough and sought advice from my brother (classicdodo on this site) as to what to do. After discussion and several glasses of red wine, it was decided that I would not restore to factory, but rather seek inspiration from the euro spec 1991 marins; specifically the Muirwoods with its all fluro paint frame and forks, and black groupset. This will not be a full XT or XTR M900 build exiotica. This will be classic black deore LX with a couple of XT/hope thrown in. It’s not going to be original, it’s my idea (with a lot of brotherly advice), and I think it will turn out pretty cool.

XT and hope Ti glide hubs on halo rims. Modern rims as I intend to use this and I don’t want retro rims to implode. Terra One tires

That's a stunning job you're doing, just love it! I'd define at as a sympathetic re-imagine as although latest-gen parts are fitted, they are entirely in keeping with mid-90's Marin ethics/aesthetics. It will be, I'm sure, a gorgeous machine to ride - well done.
