A 1993 Bear Valley is a different bike to a 1995 and has different parts (stock is an 1993 model Exage ES chainset), other years would also have different components on and require whatever they needed. But this is a 1995 model STX-RC chainset, it uses a 110 or 113 bottom bracket, Marin will have used 110 for this setup.
The 68mm shell is a guess (it's a steel marin frame) but I do not know.
nathanman, an XT chainset is not and STX-RC chainset, M730 XT used ~122 length bottom brackets, but later M737/739/750 used ~110 lengths.
My assumption is of course it still has the original chainset on there, an MC33 STX-RC and it really is a 1995 model not just bought in 1995 ?
