Hello from a newbie

Thanks for the advice about a separate thread in the bike’s section, I’ll do that when I start building it up.

Sjc, the Pl. X holdsworth rides well, stiffer than my taste as it’s chunky Columbus Spirit with shaped tubes, and a size medium frame while I’m 6’. The tyres sit out at 27mm which eases things a bit. But it’s built up with Campagnolo, which I do like - only Centaur 11 gears and Potenza brakes and cranks, but I like ‘em.

The biggest problem has been finding a position that works after barely riding since 2014, ended up dropping the saddle by 1cm on all my bikes which has minimised the occurrence of saddle sores. No idea what’s happened, I’ve used the same saddle height for ever and I’ve not shrunk. Age? It’s a b*gger.

Welcome. The Holdsworth looks interesting. I would love to see pictures of the Gazelle. I love Gazelles, I have a '78 Semi Race.

Hello all, new here.
I have old frames, and been into bikes since my childhood like most here I guess.
I have a Raleigh Royal Worksop frame from 1979 hanging in the garage.
My Mrs has a handbuilt Colombia tourer. Colombia was the Worksop arm of Raleigh who went on their own for a little while.
I had a racer by them that I did the Raid Pyrenees on in 1995!

Below are my Stanforth (new frame) built out of bits on the Howgill frame (second picture)
But the Howgill is being rebuilt. I stripped it down to build the Stanforth, then went mad with rattle cans on the Howgill.
