Manitou Mach 5 SX Fork
So this came attached to a 1995 Orange P7 frame I bought. The fork was described as "just needs a service" if memory serves me right but what did I get... a fork that was completely solid. No movement in it at all. I did strip it down to see how many elastomers had melted but found that someone had been in it before, possibly replaced the main elastomers and greased them up but lost or didn't replace the lower elastomers, drained all the oil from the cartridge and possible lost one of the small bearings that sits in a hole on the cartirdge side push rod.
I've studied the parts manual and thought about ordering random bits to see if I could rebuild it but I honestly can't be bothered. It's been sat in bits now for at least a year so... spares anyone?
1" threaded steerer is 155mm long
28.2mm stanchions
Approximately 78.6mm between the stanchions (if you want to use the crown for something)
Top caps and boots look great
Lowers need a refurb
I can get it in a small parcel if I take out the stanchions so that gets postage down.
