1995 Kona Kilauea

White 95 Kilauea is iconic. I wouldn’t paint it personally.

I get it but what about a really dark purple/gold flip though

But I still couldn’t paint that one.

I had a white 95 which I picked up cheap for parts. I couldn’t decide whether to keep the frame or not so I used my usual method of deciding - stick it up for sale for what I want and if it doesn’t sell I keep - it sold and I regret it

I done the same thing with my 1990 Kona Explosif with P2's still to this day i regret selling that, i live in hope finding that again. Bizarrely i sold Markone my 90 Explosif with Track Two's and you'd think i'd want to own that again over the Project Two one but nope there was something special about the P2 one. If anyone has it and wants to sell feel free to contact me

Yeah, I still like the white most but as I said taste is subjective and whatever works for you then great!

I might possibly go with the Deore XT M737 combi levers set up over the Deore XT top mounts it seems to suit it better and it ties in with the front and rear mechs.

And the tyres have just arrived a set of Mr Dirt and The Cleaner tyres which were original spec

I like the white, but if its going to be a respray, maybe go all out to make us drool and to increase the desirability if you choose to resell someday...A Stars & Bars Kilauea! My two cents

Rear wheel is all cleaned up and the rear tyre fitted just need to give the Deore XT cassette a good clean. What i'm noticing with this bike is that it's clearly been used but i don't think it has been ridden alot because there's not much wear to the parts. Apart from the usual tyre rub on the chainstays i think alot of the scratches have come from storage over the years.

That would certainly look good in that theme the white is starting to grow on me the more i'm working on the bike and it's only original once is going through my head aswell
