Firstly I would like to say a huge Thank You to @Spanky22b for helping out with Kona bits, also to @mk one for offering to go and have a rummage for a Kona Dog Boner, @Ackers for selling me the frame & packaging it so nicely! Thanks to the Rb'er who sold me the front mech some time ago, forgot to post the item & then his life went into turmoil, you put a rather large smile on my face when you got in touch & sent it! Last but not least I must thank the 'Boss' for buying the frame & a lot of the bits for my birthday.

Some piccies of the components gathered so far

As far as I understand it the frame has been passed between Rb'ers lofts getting lighter & lighter over time..

The frame has had a light clean, the touch up paint I had was terrible, so I may well hunt down some better matching nail varnish. Any bits showing corrosion such as the cable stops have had clear lacquer applied to give them a little protection.

The top tube decals are quite far gone or missing (The Kilauea decal looks to have been picked at) & the seat tube is devoid of any decals.

The intention with the build is to not deviate too far from the catalogue spec having said that .. some bits are not quite right.. the pedals will be changed to what, I do not know, I have a Joe Murray o-beam seat post, which probably shouldn't be on a 1995 Kona. The build is also getting a lot more m737 than the catalogue spec.

On We Go!

The forks were pretty rough, sporting the livery for 1994 & a bit too much patina for my liking. They have been stripped, I need to do a bit more work to the metal, then I can etch prime the forks...

(I will do a spec sheet a bit later)

Little bit of working on the forks today, a bit more work required around the drop outs & brake bosses, but getting there.

Located a small ding visible on the lower left leg, I hadn't spotted it until the paint was removed suspect it may disappear again in paint, I'm glad the forks aren't being painted Black.
