Oh come on, its a '95 which means (by the 10yr rule) that its 'retro' and therefore is instantly worth at least £400, and its a Kona which means that the price gets doubled. Thats how it works these days isn't it?
Ooooh, and its steel, which adds another £150 because steel is a wondermetal for making bikes.
It is pretty much a nearly-new bike. If Kona still made Kilaueas, a 2009 Kilauea might look like that with the well-designed disc tab and brace etc. And it would cost c£1,000. But they don't. I guess he's spent that kind of money on it and it's surprising how many people think that the world owes them back whatever they've spent on a project. Even on here, people say 'I'm just looking to get back what it owes me'. It's worth what it's worth, not what he's spent.
It is of course restored as a 1994 Kilauea, not a 95. Not that I would ever split hairs, certainly not, but the 95 pearlescent white might have been a better bet as it's generally more sought-after than the 1994 silver/grey.
