Right! I know they ain't great, but this was free on freecycle a year or so back, and just advised as Raleigh Activator. No size etc, so as it was round the corner, and I've never had the pleasure of experiencing one, I thought why the hell not.
It was largely original, but I've upgraded a few things:- 500mm bars to 620mm risers, god awful/dangerous canti brakes to v brakes. Also had to replace the rear hub axle as the non drive side was rusted badly, and replace tyres. And a better seat.
I've ridden it, and with the slick tyres, it's a blast. You can't fault Shimano shifting when everything is dialed in.
