1994 GT RTS-1

I'm telling you there is no possible way that it's a 1996 model bike when the frame serial number is 06/93. Never would have happened the way they were produced, NEVER. Never. NEVER. Also the Team RTS was only produced in 1994 and 1995. It was never in the 1996 catalog. They only had 1's, 2's and 3's in 1996. Sales receipt may say 1996 but that doesn't mean it wasn't hanging in a shop with a $3,000 price tag on it for two years. Remember also that decals are a dime a dozen and since they are die-cuts and not clear coated it's easy to put a 96 decal on a bike made 2-1/2 years earlier. If the finish is original it was produced as a 1994 RTS-1.

 I see you're pretty adamant then? I think if you read back through the thread i've already said i thought it was a 1994. But being no expert i was hoping someone such as yourself would provide a bit of clarity ;)

I am wrong with calling it a 'Team' though, i'll change that :)

As for the decals and the seller; i still believe the seller is telling what he thinks is the truth ie he bought this new from a shop in 1996 and hasn't changed the decals - why would he lie? The frame number is date stamped and he's given me the sales reciept so why not be transparent on this? But, as you say this is a 1994 RTS1 and the decals are wrong - when and why they were changed will remain a mystery I guess :) I think once they're a bit more untidy, i'll have Gil knock me up some repro's, he did a lovely set for my old 1994 Zaskar.
