1993 Zaskar Build

Cool, thanks mate.

I'm quite proud of myself, first bike I have built up completly from parts. I don't know all the little tricks though yet

Really nice looking bike mate, I think I'm starting to feel the Zaskar love everyone on here has at last.

This might have made my mind up whether to take the plunge.

Do it !

I can't stop looking at it, finally got the bike bike I sold 10 years ago (Only better :) ! )

Looking very nice indeed. Fantastic job!

But then I would like it as I've got a 16" Zaskar too :)

Hey Epoch, as you can see your parts are living on and doing well :D

Back brake fixed now, turns out the way I had routed the cable was dragging the brake off centre, quick re route and its perfect

Been riding quite a bit recently, no major problems other than the chain snapping (my own fault for not using a power link!) and the fact the Z1's could do with new seals.

I am considering changing the fork though for something with less travel. Any recommendations? I want something that works as well as the bomer ideally, from what i've read about period judys they don't have the best rep..

my bike has nice good condition Judy XC with coil spring upgrade and an aftermarket cartridge damper. considering they are 15yrs old, they work really well, and i am more than happy with them. they are not on the same performance level as a bomber fork however.

i still think you should keep an eye out for a Z2...very good fork, and I once ran them on a hardtail alloy GT Avalanche. they are just as nice as the Z1 in performance, they just have slightly less travel..80mm..its perfect for a hardtail.

Yep, been keeping an eye out hoping to grab a bargain set of Z2's as I reckon they are the ideal fork for what I am using the bike for.

Sadly buying from usa ebay is not the place for a bargain :p
