Re: 1993 Serotta built Jamis Dakar

hi, (not to try to thread jack but its hard to find info on these) Do you guys know much more about the 93 dakar? I found one (frame, no fork) next to a dumpster the other night and figured id take it home and do something with it. Were all the 93 dakars made by serotta? mine looks just like the op picture with the same lug at the seat tube seat stay junction and has all the same decals but does not have the serotta decal on the chainstay?

Re:

So, after breaking my left wrist 3 weeks ago, I decided to put this up for sale.
I had a hefty medical bill coming my way and I had always had a nagging thought that this frame was going to be a bit too small for me.
I had a Jamis Dragon of the same year in this size and sold that because it felt too cramped.
Anyhow, the frame didn't sell and then the looooooong Ritchey stem that I'd waited a looooooong time for arrived from the US at the weekend.
I decided to fit the new Ritchey headset, fork, wheels, seatpost, saddle, stem and a spare set of bars and see how it looked.
Now I've sat on it I'm more confident I'll be ok with the frame size :D
I'll not use it as much as I used to use my Dragon, so will hopefully get by ok.

The black Ritchey bars I ordered should be with me in a few days, then I can get building!
It'll help ease the boredom of being stuck at home for another 4 weeks too

Re:

A Jamis of this quality should only be owned by Makster! To own, admire, and ride occasionally will be enough.

Re:

Looking good! If you're that bored I can always drop around another couple of bikes that need building ;)

Thank you! That's kind of what I'm thinking.

If you can take a few of mine and store them while I'm doing it, you've got a deal ;)
