Are you sure that is from the chain and not from heel rub? (Hard to see exactly where it is on the zoomed in photo).

As I said in the for sale thread, it has the same drop-outs and braces as my frame, which I guess they introduced in 1993. I did have an SBike stem in that matching colour, but since the previous owner had the frame powdercoated I got the stem powdercoated black for my build.

Yeah didn’t think of that.

Original stem was replaced to a black velocity one to fit the original owner. Shame you powder coated it it could’ve been good use to me

Just gave it a quick clean. Nothing major, then with no modifications I just gave it a couple quick spins around the block. Needs a bit of setting up a bit as brakes and shifting have fallen out of line. There’s a faint pearliness to the paint giving it that lovely shine which is a nice touch.

Best bit: the velociraptors make it sound like an f1 car

Just gave the frame a wash, components will be cleaned at HQ

I’ve ordered some brake pads and will order a few other bits and bobs. The Shimano mt65 pads are the bane of my existence.

I’ve got a Mach ss tyre so I’ll go Mach ss tyre front and velociraptor rear. (Until I can find a matching 2.1…)

Some red ritchey brake pads arrived, hopefully along with some other things. I think @mk one recommended them at one point. At least they’ll be better than those bloody mt65 brake blocks.

They smell a bit like a new Ford Focus interior

Most of the stuff has arrived now, I’ve swapped over the ritchey grips from the cannondale on here but was thinking maybe going with some oury’s

I’ve got a rolls that I will give a trial on there.

I still need a 1 1/8” black stem, thinking zoom is the way to go or maybe a cheap Controltech… though none of those came with a noodle…

Anyone got a spare WTB velociraptor kicking about?

Thought I’d give this an update, still waiting for some parts, like we all do.

Sorted an CR i beam and ended buying some different cable housing as the blue was the right shade and that sent my bike tart alarm bells ringing. Also looking for another 7sp mech as the A10 on it is absolutely knackered.

And i need to get some touch up paint as the scratches are now annoying me.

Going radio silence now as workshop move is underway and that’s going to be very annoying..

Had an evening so thought I could get a mock up done, here it is ATM, no bb as it needs greasing and it’s the only Italian threaded thing in the house.

Anyway here it is, a good couple months before the malverns, so I’ve got loads of time to get the dings and scratches touched up. It’ll be a rider in the meantime.
