I really should update this thread.... I finally got the bike back together, and then one of the Gripshift X-Ray shifters decided to explode into a million shards of broken plastic 
so it currently has a Gripshift SRT600 shifter for the front mech.
The Panaracer tyres are also feeling their age and cracking, so they'll be replaced at some point
But the bike has been ridden, and will get some use over the Xmas holidays for sure . Weight is around 23lbs, and it's really nice to ride, direct, if a little twitchy on the front end, typical 90's XC racer, but you soon get used to it.
