For a 3dV build and to match the premium frame I would use premium (priced) brakes in 3DV (e.g. Grafton, Critical Racing or Paul) and Mojos instead of silver Cantis and some rather cheap violet brake booster and canti hanger.

As C3-PO would say.... "how rude"

Why rude? I expressed my opinion/taste and gave a reason for it. Earlier in this thread, I stated that I personally prefer silver or black parts for a colourful frame. Naturally, I respect Vinnyas taste and he makes a fair point, that XTR 900 Cantis work better than Grafton Brakes. If we all had the same taste, every build would be the same. ➡️ boring.

Here is my build of the sister-paintjob: Rainforest. Not as funky, but personally, I like it better, as the frame stands out a bit more.

Vinnya has done a nice job and he has one of the most amazing bikes in this Forum! :)

Just thought it was a bit harsh to openly criticize someones choice of parts as cheap and inferior?
Tell you what.... you give me your Adroit and we'll forget all about it ;-)

Damn shame about not being able to time that big chainring properly

I'd like to find one of these to go next to my gossamer

Cheers for your input, but I stated from day 1 I've chosen the mechanicals for function over form. The Shimano components over the best operation. Unlike some others I like to ride my bikes not just look at them. If I was building a bike to look at, yes I'd have used boutique components.

Well said !

I think you've done a fantastic job and I'm not even a fan of Kleins !
Nice to see some photos of one in the presence of mud tolo  Glad you're pleased with the ride. I imagine they're stiff as hell to ride !

Re:

That's a nice build! Great to see another in that colour and being used too :D

I think it would look even better without the brake boosters though - (never liked them, not needed for cantis and they trap mud).

Don't bother with 'boutique brakes' they are all crap compared to those m900s.

 WOW
Amazing!! I bet your well happy, and I bet you smile every time you see it.. very envious.
Shame you couldn't get tyres though, have you thought about white grips? Is this still the same spec today or have you changed anything? And looking back, would you have built it any different?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your comments, and yes your right every time I see it I do smile.
It is essentially still the same, I'll be honest I was concerned about how the wheels hold up but so far so good.
I wouldn't change anything too drastic, I built it to be over the top in colour and different to other builds where possible.
But still to be functionally sound and nice to ride, hence the M900 gears and brakes.
It took a lot of waiting and searching and even a drive to Germany but worth it.
