1993 MC1 Mardi Gras Adroit (First ride pics c/w mud)

Re: 1993 MC1 Adroit (Finished)

Insane bike, really cool, should be a contender for bike of the year, it's the most bling Klein I've seen.

Re: 1993 MC1 Adroit (Finished)

Thanks again for the compliments.

I think I agree about a black seat.
I got the white one with the aim of getting white tyres.
They never arrived, but NOS stock deathgrips became availbe so took those.
I have a black seat, although would rather find white porcs etc.

:)

Slightly interesting story about your seatpost.
It lost electrical connection after 5 minutes of anodising and I had to hold the connection by hand for the next 25 minutes in a tank of acid! It came out fine.

BEAUTIFUL!
I would swap the lizard skin chain protector for another color though....

Re: 1993 MC1 Adroit (Finished)

Went for my first proper ride today.
To some peoples surprise, whilst it's dry I even included a number of muddy trails.
It was a pleasure to ride, very precise and nimble and performed faultlessly.
Looking forward to my next trip out.

My favourite view includes the rear dropouts and crazy rear wheel.

For a 3dV build and to match the premium frame I would use premium (priced) brakes in 3DV (e.g. Grafton, Critical Racing or Paul) and Mojos instead of silver Cantis and some rather cheap violet brake booster and canti hanger.

Cheers for your input, but I stated from day 1 I've chosen the mechanicals for function over form. The Shimano components over the best operation. Unlike some others I like to ride my bikes not just look at them. If I was building a bike to look at, yes I'd have used boutique components.
