1993 Marin Indian Fire Tail - Childhood Dream Bike

This is getting Sexy the builds starting to take shape in my head once more lol. I found this used red brake cable I’m thinking to go and use up front…. I’m also thinking about stripping it back and having it in plain polished silver to match the manitou 2s ..I think this will look good and hopefully be a good match 5AA13823-5780-4AE3-8587-27E720320C5B.jpeg

Finally got round to looking at this frame and the good news is the none drive side rear brake boss isn’t missing after all lol. I think it must have been a odd photo. How it looked like it was missing I’m not sure lol. Anyway it’s there attached to the frame

but I had already brought some SRP titanium M10 brake studs just incase the one original was missing

I think I’ve probably gathered all the parts for this bike so the slow build begins 🐢 1EA42016-5263-49E6-A200-46E4271367E1.jpeg

So here we I’ve just been playing around with the new Ritchey Logic headset I brought for £10 for the spare parts

one thing I didn’t really wanna do is beat out the old originalRitchey cups out in the headtube just in case the headtube cracked pressing the others in so I’ve left them in for now. One thing I did noticed the bottom bearing cup was pitted But top one was ok. So thought I’d try and fit a 1.1/8th cartridge bearing in stead or the roller bearings and it worked as snug as you could image…this also makes it way easy for me as I can use the other part that presses on the fork crown race so much easier for me as it just presses on the fork by hand lol

pics of the headset and parts I’m using and Manitou 2 forks . They also look so good offed up to the frame .

the only thing I’ll be changing to the headset is a purple or black headlock grub screw locking nut. F2078BB7-13D7-49AD-9D4D-2D6F9B7CE869.jpeg B668FECF-60C0-4C62-B67B-B00DC427D692.jpeg 353C5D53-4F71-4EBE-81C9-35F2793E2F62.jpeg 9207FD74-3C0B-4AEE-B710-65C91E666A8C.jpeg

cantilever brake cable hanger is finally stripped of faded red anodising I think this will look really good mounted up front with the manitou fork FFA5D304-D824-42C1-B59E-118E87028C40.jpeg 6C4DF08A-900C-4ECD-80C8-509B37A8AB72.jpeg

I’ve also managed to dig these ultra rare inner tubes out ..I’m not sure I wanna use them once there gone there gone and they was sooo good back then. I have fond memory’s of these fanatic tubes

lol if I don’t use these inner tubes I have plenty of other latex tubes to choose from not so old I willing to ride

Just look at these Ritchey Logic WCS latex blue inner tubes from around 1994 ..they could be older. These are my fav inner tubes by a long way they just ride so well 4518D4BD-EDA3-48CE-839B-901E1579767F.png 96DBC6FC-F5F8-4448-980C-06E3443C3129.png

Man I like these handlebars and they’ve just come in the post today lol ive been waiting ages for these titanium handlebars. The play originally was to go and use silver Answer Hyperlite but I couldt find any ..and at the last moment these took my fancy so got these instead. and they only weigh 140grams in 560mm

also had these black on clear decals in the post from a good member on here FALKO who makes sick Marin decals and thought Id give him a shout out and add these to the ti handlebars

my thought is in choosing these ti bars is they soak up the trail buzz & vibrations
