He was :D and so where the customers in the hub. Neil has a fondness for retro too so it was great to let him loose on it. I was just drooling over his Park Tool adorned pegboards

Re:

So some more first world dilemma's...

Got the 2 cassettes back from the nitriders

The titanium sprockets are a lot shinier than the steel which because I sandblasted them are very matt (which is sort of what I wanted). I have mocked up my proposed set up, omitting the 19T titanium sprocket and putting in the 32T. What does everybody think, should I go with this or just use the titanium sprockets only and have a small 12-25 cassette?

12-25 is what Mike uses and would look kinda hardcore Retro - especially with the ratio's on new bikes being like dinner plates on the arse end

however if you want to ride it (and aren't Mike Muz) then the above would be nuts unless its flat

Personally 12-25 would look (aesthetically) neater but neither would be a bad choice

Love the Ultimate machine lockrings, I've got a couple on my builds, its just a shame that you can't see them when the wheels in

Re:

I don't know if I'm being a bit "special" but I can't seem to get the titanium rings to fit on the freehub body? They were bought as shimano compatible but I didn't check before they were nitrided  ..will have to have a play. In the meantime I have mounted the steel rings just to see the effect and they look pretty good.

I think I am edging towards using only titanium (if I can get them to fit) or only steel as mix and match will just look like a compromise.

Are you going to be using the cassette? 34 will make the hills a bit easier :)

Nah

When he’s done he’s going to attach a saddle to a scaffold pole and sell it all on to Muz

It's a 32 tooth as 34 looks too large. I will be using the bike gently but usually ride a 1X11 set up on my enduro so quite good at "sucking it up" when I run out of gears.

Definitely looking like the supposed shimano compatible titanium sprockets are not  as I've just tried again. They may be campag  Peachy PM may have to advise me on that one.
