Didn't look that dirty but was really sticky and greasy, fork boots took ages to get clean.

Saddle even came back around somewhat.

Think I paid my idiot tax with that front brake cable routing once the fork compresses you lose the front brake completely was pretty funny going for the first ride! Don't understand how thats meant to work. Looks like I can get some replacement rubber hoods from eBay.

Got a quick ride in at the end of the day. XT shifts perfectly even with the 9 speed cassette you just don't get the last 2 gears. Let me tell you this bike absolutely pops its like I don't even need my lights, thing is super bright and vibrant!

In terms of my plans for the bike: pedals will be swapped back to period correct. Tyres are cheap and dry rotted so will be swapped even though I actually kind of like the look of them. Rubber hoods replaced. Chain and cassette at some point although it rides perfectly well.

Hope this was a good update on the bike in general, just to know its back in good hands and will be enjoyed this summer out on the trails. Cheers.
