I feel the purple bling is lost on this bike. The frame demands so much attention that the purple bits vanish. But that's me. The paint is awesome, but I would go with black parts all around.

I go back and forth on this exact issue. Part of me feels the frameset itself needs to be showcased, independent of other bling. But I'm a 3DV freak, and always have been, and feel the 3DV blends well with the purple hues on this colorway, and have chosen to incorporate as much of my favorite purple bling on this as I can! My other forthcoming Klein builds will be more pure, unadulterated by anodized bling.

A little more progress on this build lately. Could have swore I had a 27.2 Ringle Moby in 3DV, but alas, it was 26.8. So the NOS Selle Italia GelFlow Ti will proceed, but the Ringle I've now sold and moved on (I still have 2 other 26.8s in 3DV for other builds in the works...). So instead, I'll be putting a NOS Kalloy Uno post in 3DV with this build. A little heavier than the Ringle, but nice nonetheless. Also swapped out the Ringle seat QR for a Gonzo Mudslinger in 3DV. I really like these, with the ratcheting mechanism.

Then did a little due diligence with the crankset, putting removable locktite on the chainring bolts and some Finish Line Ti Anti-Seize compound on the Ti bottom bracket spindle and threads, and put some 3DV-anodized Ti bolts on the crankset spider.

I know, I know, pedals usually go on last, but I wanted to make more progress. So on with the NOS Odyssey Svelte with 3DV cages.

Next, a little fiddling with the derailleurs. A NOS RD-M735 Deore XT unit for the back and NOS FD-M735 31.8 bottom pull (still had the price tags on them, but that pic got corrupted so couldn't include it here). Then swapped out the pulleys for 3DV Carmichaels, and SRP bolts on front and rear wherever I could. A NOS 3DV Avid Rollamajig will go on when I cable up.

And then the nerve-wracking part.....sliding on the shifters and brake levers without scratching the Mission Control. Hate this part, but went on with minimal issues. VGC SL-M732 thumbies and NOS Tektro 3DV levers. Swapped out some of the bolts for Ti and 3DV, here and there. And NOS ODI clear attack grips and NOS Craig 3DV L-bend bar ends. I plan to ride this bike, and I strongly prefer to ride with bar ends, so despite most Klein builds I see that go without bar ends, I will depart from that pattern. Proudly.
