Turns out Blizz had other fish to fry, and he ended up selling lucky me this bike! Thanks Blizz, you did a great job on it. I love all the original specced DX; the bike really didn't need anything.
However I did make a few changes. I had an early 2nd gen Syncros post for it, and a RM 'shoulder holder' saddle. I also swapped the DX cantis for some Maguras, which I thought was fitting for Rocky's 'trials riding' inspired mountain bike. I have to trim the hydraulic lines, but I wanted to try them out first, and see if I liked them as I've never had them on a rider before (love them). I also swapped out the stem for something a little bit lower, as the bike does have a pretty tall front end. Answer Taperlite bars with a nice 5 degree sweepback, and Oury grips. SPD 'spuds'...
I had some retro tires on it, but seeing as I'm actually riding the bike, I opted for modern Ground Controls (26" x 2.3"). The tire clearance on these bikes is incredible, you could even go 2.5" wide tires if you wanted to!
Well, this one is in rougher condition than my original Experience but it's an 18.5"!
It was listed as a Cirrus and I was pleasantly surprised to see it was another Experience. I'm wondering if it was one of the overstock sold in 1993 that came with black decals, or maybe the previous owner wasn't keen on the pink decals. Anyway, it had no original parts, so I might go with an XT build this time and I'll try to find another Tange big fork... or see if I have Syncros fork in the correct length.
Most of the decals had been removed with a metal scraper  ...lots of scratches to smooth out. It will be a good winter project.
