1992 Kona HeiHei - refresh

Complete bike in parts still but pleased with the old '92 frame after cleaning up and adding fresh stickers from the correct era.

Frame was certainly built to last, and this particular HeiHei one had a celebrity owner from new, and was in a very early shipment of these frames that came to the UK by the importer.

technically its a Kona 20", but measures up the same size top tube height and length as my 19" 97 King Kahuna HeiHei (but without the suspension adjusted geometry of course).

Thanks, yes, not the greatest picture to focus on a HeiHei, but pleased with this early Kona, I prefer it to my '97 HeiHei at the moment.

yes, re/ the 'distraction' bike..... Its a year 2000 special edition - one of about 30 in the UK; and the best bit for this forum is probably: its frame and rear swing arm are hand fabricated in Italy by Verlicchi entirely out of Reynolds 531 tube and painted rosso red. Marzocchi forks up front too - there is quite a close relationship in Italy between the cycle and motorcycle world (I know there used to be in the UK, but not so much now, mainly because we don't really have a motorcycle industry anymore

Gil every time (although I didn;t find out about him until I was 3 weeks into a wait for a set from somewhere else - that I would not recommend though)
