Wondering which restoration/upgrades you'd recommend first?

Nice bike.
I’d ride it first to get a feel for it and see what you want to change.
One option is fitting period parts - 1992 components are easy to find. So you could revert to 92 front and rear derailleurs, triple chainring, brake levers and gear shifters.
Tyres - tan walls? Smoke / Dart is a good combo.

From the badging I'd say you're spot on for '92.

It is a 92. I memorized the catalogue from that year like it was my only copy of Razzle.
I'd reinstate the other 2 chainrings & a f/mech firstly. As said, be cheap & simple to kit it out with LX/DX period drivetrain & brakes.

Put these tyres on it for now as mainly cruise around town.

Cheaper and less hassle to buy the used parts off here than eBay.
