Well for last few days used it for my daily commute.
Got the gears dialed in properly.....Small ring on front is pretty redundant, go up Gurney road in Norwich everyday which isn't too steep but enough for a feel good leg burn middle ring is as low as I need, could go larger on big ring too.
Some homework on available ring sizes needed I think.
Compared to the Proflex 752 which was my previous commuter the eiger has a much sharper/direct feel to it. To be honest i've been surprised by the ride quality from an old low end model.
I know it's not many people's cup of tea but for what I've spent on it it's turned out to be a very enjoyable retro that is still in daily use
Definately would get another saracen with a more regular build for my off road duties .
