1990 Marin Eldridge Grade - NeonYellow&NeonPinkSplatter!

Nice work mate as it looks so much more fresher looking thanks to you putting the new decals on  ..

Thanks for the nice comments guys! :)
As far as the decals are concerned i'm having two hearts pounding in my chest.
On the one hand this bike never had the major decals. So all the years that we were together i remember my bike as a different character. I always liked the fact that it had no decals.
On the other hand i like what i see now. I guess we are all changing over time and so is my bike.

I'm looking forward to finish this build this summer but i said the same thing last year.

I see what you mean and although you maybe changing the bikes original appearance with the major decals it does add to the character of the bike in a good way that is ;) ..

I'm loving the decals...the black against that bright neon paintwork is sweet!

WHAT HE SAID +1

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet looking

Two years ago i took apart my Ringlé skewers to send them to the anodizer.
And even after all these years i spent on retrobike.co.uk my standards are still nowhere near like WD Pro's.
In his writeup about taking apart those skewers he wrote that one should be able to rescue 2 out of 3 rods while taking them apart.
Well you can guess it...i managed it to destroy 3 out of 3 rods. 2 of them i bent and 1 of them had either a damaged thread when i bought it or again i did this myself with some improper tool. :D
Maybe i could have used those rods anyway but since time doesn't really matter to me i waited till some new rods came my way.
The Ringlé-Master of all classes elite504 sent me some nice and original titanium rods. A big thanks to you!
So the time has come to upgrade from the old and bend steel ones. By the way the threads are rolled onto these rods instead of cut into them, which gives them more strenght and for even more saftey i bought some Loctite 2400 which locks threads up to M36 and at the same time won't harm your health.
During this work i recognized that the rubber O-rings should also be replaced on this skewer set to be perfect again so i did that, too.

Here are some pics of the work i did on this beautiful sunny saturday morning:

Got some things done today.
I installed the wheels, cranks, pedals, mechs, seatpost, seat, brakes handlebars, shifters, brake levers and some other little stuff.
I also wanted to cable up the brakes today but i managed to drop the small allen key which is needed for this job to the ground.
After half an hour of searching through the lawn on my knees i gave up.
So no cables today but some nice pics. It starts to look like a bike.

@Muddy paw: Thanks for your nice comment. I guess after all this time my build takes you are the only one left who is interested in it besides myself.

Found another allen key in the right size in the man cave so no need to buy one.
I cabled everything up today which went pretty straight forward besides i couldn't attach the Hudz Donouts without getting them dirty. That bothered me. :) But after one ride they will be dirty anyway. So no harm done i guess.
I also installed the Dura Ace chain which is too long, the shark fin and the ODI grips. I decided not to destroy the grips for the installation of my Control Stix II barends. So those will be stashed away till the grips are worn out.
Being used to how simple Shimano brakes are set up, all this turquoise CNC loveliness does looks ace in my opinion but it is really a pain in the ass to adjust these thingies correct. That will be a task for a different day when i have the buddhist patience to do so.
So again some pics for your pleasure.
