I know, that is why I have not called it a replica .
A rockshox would have been the cherry on top of the cake but I was running tight on my budget and I think the rond is a really nice substitute, also because its 'local'. Rond was a dutch brand, koga miyata is dutch and I am dutch myself as well.

Koga miyata skyrunner cbl from 1990. This is the same frame as the gold plated 100th year anniversary model. It is also very similar to greg herbolds bike from a 1990 article ( https://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/v/Manufacturer+Archive/Miyata/Articles/Elev10k/hb1C.jpg.html ) and I thought it would be cool to inspire my build on this bike. An exact copy is out of my league: frame, tioga disk drive, onza porcs..... so I am taking artistic liberties with my build
Lately I have been hoarding parts and as everything is slowly coming together I thought it would be nice to start a build thread and document everything.
Shoutout to friends, family and the dutch mtb museum for helping me out so far!

I love Koga Miyata. The Century is the bike of my dreams (I don't care MTB or road)
In Spain you see very few. I have a Full Pro that I lovingly restored as original as possible (minus the pedals that Time put in to be able to use it) and of which I am very proud.
Greg Herbold was a great guy. He was also one of the promoters of Grip Shift (Grip Shift is my weakness).
I'm looking to purchase a Sky Runner to grow the "family." Let's see if I'm lucky.
