1990 Brodie Climbmax

Devout Dirtbag
Here is my 1990 Brodie Climbmax. I've had it since new.

The bike was repainted in around 1994 by Beeks Custom Refinishing in Toronto.
The fork was replaced due to a broken steerer tube. This appears to be a 3rd generation as it has the aluminum drop outs and drilled crown, while the original had the spinner drop outs and solid crown.

I paid extra to have rear rack mounts on the seatstays, I also remember being upset that the tubing sticker was not prestige, but brodie select

The build is as follows:

Frame and fork - brodie climbmax / gatorblade

Stem and Seatpost - syncros - really need to get the seatpost reannodized

Handlebar - titec bontrager 118

Brakes - front Paul's Stoplights, rear modified graftons (with eyebolts instead of brackets for brakpads)

Crank - Ritchey Logic
Bottom bracket - cooks bros ti (used to have cranks, not sure where they are now)

Wheels - got lucky a few weeks ago and picked up shop worn near NOS Mavic 231 CD laced to 732 hubs

Saddle - Selle San Marco Bontrager

Re:

I'm close to 6"3 and as per the fashion of the day sized down (its a 19 wish it was a 21). Saddle is at 80cm from BB spindle.

Fork blades were painted to match until I got the new fork.

Very nice, the paint reminds me of my '93 Kilauea :)

Shame about the forks, have you thought about getting those painted to match?

Have you got any more photos of the bike?

Mark

Re:

I'm actually thinking of having it repainted. Since it already has been done once, doing it again won't reduce the value any further.

If there are any details you want to see, let me know, glad to provide them.
