1989 Raleigh Montage

The mint coloured one was definitely around about 88 - I can remember being in a bike shop in 88 and seeing a kid getting bought one.

Pretty much it, they were 88 and 89, the main difference was the 88 had a U-brake and 89 cantis. I was about £80 short of one in 1988 so got the Maverick GT.

At a guess, at least for the late 80s ones, I would have said somewhere around £200-£250.

At a guess, at least for the late 80s ones, I would have said somewhere around £200-£250.

Decent guess, they were about 280, the maverick was 200, I couldn't persuade my parents to stump up the extra 40 for the Memphis, no way they were going to give me 80 towards the montage, would have taken me about another 6 month to save for that.
