That looks fantastic

One query though, its stupidly niggling me... the down tube and stem decals look "streched" horizontally (squashed vertically) - is that how they should be?

Hmm :? Eagle eye Carl picked them up instantly as being bigger than the ones on the frame when I got it. I know Kevin spent some extra time re-sizing the decals to what he thought was right. The decals are under the lacquer (so I can jet wash it ) so it is what it is for now. To be honest it looks great in the flesh  so I can't see me doing anything about it anytime soon - the frame is now good for another 23 years so I've got plenty of time for that

Sooo, erm, how's it coming along?

It's finished :D Well for now anyway - the wheels were built with the rim labels in the wrong direction :( only noticed when I got them home so I'll need to get that sorted and hopefully the NOS XT Seatpost will turn up soon

I'll get some better pics out on the trails when those things are done.

Really happy with how it has turned out. :D

Thanks to Kevin for his expertise in restoring his frame and for employing his knowledge of how it was originally built and painted - respect.

Thanks to everyone who's posted on or contributed to all 14 pages of this thread - it's really encouraged me to get this done.
