It took me forever to clean this 30 year old cassette but it’s looking good

This was just the path of least resistance, I don’t want to fight old suntour stuff
Even if it get it all original, the cranks were still riveted, the rear hub was still wobbly, the brake levers were crumbling apart
The original parts can sit in a box for posterities sake, i want to actually ride this at some point so mixed shimano it is
Great decision 👍, bike looks awesome

Front derailleur and it’s technically good to go after I do the cable ends and final adjustments.

But it’s now winter, and while I’m not against riding in the snow, probably not riding this particular bike in the snow

Cool to see another Pathfinder, I got one that I messed around with quite a lot:

Picked up for...90€ if I remember:

I didn't enjoy it much riding with the original stem and bars, ran it as a monstercross (2x10) for awhile:

The third iteration was more of a "sure-I'll-go-pick-up-the-missing-deliveries-and-jump-some-curbs-on-the-way" build (3x7), basket and motobars, because hey, it was already heavy:

I even did some commutes and lunchrides with it like that. I wanted to love this more but from a riding point of view it never really hit the spot. Frameset is hanging in the attic now, at some point I am sure it will emerge again. I'd really want one in the other colorway they had back then.

Anyways, thanks for posting yours, was fun to see your journey with it.

/Andreas.
