I'm looking to sell my 1989 DB Axis.
Pretty good condition.

Long story short , it was actually Harry Leary's. He raced DH on it at the back end of the 80s , early 90s.
I've had it about 7yrs.

PM me for details / pix/story.

I'm looking for offers IRO £500.
Thanks . Tim

And you are from Manchester!
Heres another story.

When the 1989 stock DBs first were shipped , there was 2 Axis's (axii ? ) in the container.
One came to me , via Alans , and the other went to Harry Halls in Mcr.
So , pretty rare.
More came in later obviously. But I bet not many.
So a few weeks later , me + girlfriend were on a saturday shopping thing in Manchester.
I'd always go in Harry Halls.
Hanging Ditch in them days.
I spot the (other)Axis and walk over for a lever squeeze.
A grand was a ton of money then.
The guy tries to tell me how good it is , to sell it obviously, and I tell him its ok , " you wont believe this , but I've got ( the only other ) one"
He obviously doesnt believe me. He knows there are only two in the country. Moore&Large have told him.
I'd have got my iPhone out and shown him the pix , but it was 1989.
It could have still been '88. Anyway. Funny.

So , about a month after that....

We're in Manchester again . Same deal.
On the way home , we're on the platform of Victoria stn.
A guy walks on , you can tell he's buzzing.
He's wheeling a ( the one other ) DB Axis.
I cant resist.
I walk over for a look.
Tell him the tale.
He's just been told there's only two in the UK.
5 mins out of the shop.
Whatre the chances ?
Ha.

Was that you. Ha.
I've still got my original one. Superb bike. I very nearly got a Marin.
Over 25yrs , and we're still together. 4 kids....
