1989 Brodie Romax

Re:

It's cool to see. I got so lucky with all of this. Paul Brodie was able to do the work on the bike and dropped it off to Harald in the same week ... and it arrives just in time to be the feature in this photo article!

I'd like to say I planned it that way, but it's all just a fluke!

It's suppose to arrive here tomorrow :)

Re:

Re: Another Brodie Romax has surfaced :)

I'll try to get the previous pics back up for this build. Here she sits now.

Just needs a bunch of NOS XT parts and skinwalls. Black looks cool, but not the right vintage or look I am going for.

Re: Another Brodie Romax has surfaced :)

Simply shabless Jim, a fantastic project. That is some serious respect shown to a deserving frame, and an honour to Mr. Brodie and his work.

Now go on and getter done...

Re: Another Brodie Romax has surfaced :)

This one has been pretty much done for a while. Just haven't had time to finish setting it up.

Photobucket strikes again so here’s the before:

Paul Brodie confirmed its a Romax built in Jan.1989. As you can see there were some modifications made to the bike. The previous owner removed the rear U brake and replaced it with a V brake setup. The work was done well by Marinoni in Montreal, but it wasn’t what I wanted. Luckily for me, PB had a bit of time between all of his other projects to restore the rear U brake (I went lower as you can see) for me. Flawless job as you’d expect … and off it went to Toxik Harrold for paint:

I sent him a pile of pics of what I had in mind and it turned out even better then I had hoped.

Here she is now. Basically every part on the bike is NOS outside of the Bullseye cranks which were restored to new condition. Total time machine.

I mean, come on. This is amazing, and ridiculous and so worthy. A great bike made greater, thank you Jim for preserving a heritage piece. The Brodie legacy is well kept here, thank you...
