Retro Newbie
Hi all,

I would be really interested to know what this is worth. I no longer require it and am looking to find a good home for it. It is a 1988 Raleigh Technium in exceptionally good condition, having had one previous owner who basically never used it.

Quick specs as follows:

- Thermally bonded alloy & steel frame
- Dia Compe 284 brake levers
- Dia Compe 5583 front cantilever brake
- Dia Compe AD-990 rear 'U' brake
- Araya RM-25 rims on Maillard hubs
- Sakae SX crankset with Ovaltech rings
- DID chain
- Suntour Accushift thumb shifters
- Suntour XCD4050 front mech
- Suntour XCD4050 rear mech

Many thanks :)

Anyone? I've seen frame & forks recently sell for £100.

Guessing the components on this aren't worth a great deal??

Raleighs are very hit and miss about these parts from what I can tell, with the exception of Reynolds frames and RSP/Dyna-Tech. Not a lot of people go for oval chainrings either. Aluminium frame isn't going to help matters.
Bikes are always worth less than the sum of their parts, and it's difficult with all but a minority of late '80s bikes, there isn't as big a market for them as early '90s ones.

Far less than it originally retailed for unfortunately, hold out for a ton as it's almost nos. It's way too small for me, shame as I've got a very big shed that it would look good gently gathering dust in....

I have the US specced version of this (all Shimano Deore) that i've just put on fleabay starting at £150. Not actually sure i want to sell it but if someone is willing to give me more than the £20 i paid for it at a car boot last Sunday i'm game! Not as clean as yours but all there and ridable!
