1988 Muddy Fox Explorer

The rain has stopped and the paint is dry enough to bolt things back on, i'm just impatient really lol time to have a look in day light.
So i sprayed the shifter mounts and brake levers matt black and really happy with the look, goes well with the cantilevers and U Brake.
Stem looks good aswell and added the grips, so that's the cockpit area all done.

Next i have to strip all the parts back off again sort the chainset out and clean and polish the frame and forks, just gonna leave the 34 years of patina on it though 😊

Looking at the bike to me it's just saying as a finishing touch put black hubbed gold label 6 speed Deore wheels on it.
So if anyone has any 126oln wheels give me a shout please.
The wheels what are on are off my old fluro Cinelli they're working really well so they'll do for the time being though but the Deores would be nice.

It has certainly given it a less hazardous road status.

I'm the same love the look of them,it's just a bummer when it wears off on the crankarms.
Reminds me I should probably put some kind of helicopter type tape on my RS7's. Quite durable finish on those though, not rubbed at all.

Had some time at work to give the driveside chainset a clean and it came up nicely, just got to do the other now.
Also got some smash your shins SE racing beartrap pedals in the post.

How's the rebuild going? I've currently rebuilding the same bike but also have the 21" version. If you need paint I can recommend Halfords touch up black gloss and yellow. Surprisingly good!

It's like this at the moment, found a spare Deore XT M731 U Brake but not sure on it because i found a couple of Deore MT61 U-Brakes so might just spray one of those matt black instead, decisions descions 😀 And i had some black Deore crankarms which the paint was worn so gave them a coat of black to see what they look like 🤔
You must of read my mind regarding touch up paint because i want to sort the frame out now, any photos of the Halfords paint you used.
