I picked this up several years ago just because I thought it was cool and with the exception of swapping the awful import tyres (zero traction but TBF did squeal the tarmac like Starsky n Hutch!!) for Billy Bonkers it remains as I found it...
Info from previous owner, seemed a genuine guy who appeared to have done lots of research -
1886 Raleigh Maverick 15GT (23" frame as I recall but I'll double check, I'm 6ft it's a tad small for me) Mk2 model hand built in Nottingham with superior frame, forks and components sold exclusively through Raleigh Five Star dealerships (unlike the bikes that sold through Halfords etc)
New Sachs rear axle, bearings and gear shifters
New Dia Compe brakes and cables
Re-chromed handlebars
Freewheel, chain and stand, modern mudguards and LED lights (obviously not period correct)
I need to free some space hopefully someone can enjoy this ride at a fair price of £80, collection GU29
Nice n tidy retro bike in excellent working order
DM for more photos and I'll try to answer any questions
Thanks Murray
